All Souls

Steeped in a choric tranquillity, and shimmering with the stillness of dawn-break, Cornelia Murr’s new single ‘All Souls’ speaks of beautiful, wide-open vistas, of landscapes blossoming in sunlight. Her first music since last year’s single ‘Hang Yr Hat’ sees her nudging her sonic palette of Americana-twinged Fantasia-folk into the gossamer realms of dream-pop: like the ethereality of Beach House married with the stark intimacies of ‘Big Time’ Angel Olsen.

Sparkles of omnichord, swathes of mellotron, and the plucked delicacies of electric and nylon guitar soak through the track, as Murr divulges;

“‘All Souls’ is about how love expands and enriches us even when it’s not returned. It’s about how grief can turn ecstatic as it connects us to the whole, showing us who or what we love in everyone and everything, reminding us we’re made of the same love we wish to receive. It’s about how our capacity to feel, even in grief, is a super power.”

Enriching the listener above all else, is Murr’s enchanting vocal: pearly and soulful; embossed with a tear-streaked, hard-won wisdom gained only through those painful processions of time.

Accompanying the self-produced track is a self-directed video which beautifully captures a moment in time; life in 2022 seen through a careful lens. Watch the video here.

Cornelia makes the trip from Los Angeles to the UK in September to play shows with Dana Gavanski, tickets on sale now.
